Palm Tree Sandbox

Our friends at TriScape took down our palm tree to make room for more parking space. Brigham has wanted to get rid of the thing since we moved here.....8 years ago.

So this week a chainsaw, one rope, a truck and two men made it disappear in just under 10 minutes.

To Flip, Or Not To Flip?

In the spring of 2003 we got one of those little swing sets for the girls. It had 3 swings, a teeter totter on one end and a slide on the other. The chains were even covered in soft plastic to protect little fingers.

Fast forward seven years and the little swing that could is still with us. Some may say that it needs liposuction and Botox, but we like it just the way it is. The fancy add-ons (teeter totter and slide) have long since met their maker and the soft plastic chain covers disintegrated years ago. All that remains is the bare frame with only 2 seats suspended from rusty chains. The kids love it. They have found that if one girl sits on the cross bar and the other two swing at opposite times they can get maximum height without the whole thing flipping over. Something they would not have figured out had their parents taken the time to set the legs in concrete. But who does that?! Then there are times that flipping it over is the goal.

Straws/ Hand Soap

One morning I found the girls in bubble bliss. They woke at dawn with plans to raid the pantry for straws and hand soap. Why do I even buy toys? Their little invention kept them busy all day.

Don't you love Ruby's hair?

Wish us luck at softball tonight. I'm not sure what affect the 13th will have on Softball Guy, but it can't be good.

No Bauers Allowed

Last weekend the girls performed a lockout. You can't blame a girl for wanting a little quiet time without her lip gloss being devoured or the dismemberment of her dolls. Don't worry about Bing, they slid random bits of paper under the door for him to gnaw on.

A Good Cleaning

Most of the time when Brigham walks in the door after a long day of work he is greeted by a natural disaster. I say natural disaster because a filthy home is what naturally happens when you have four little ones running amok. When this happens I have been known to say: "If I only had one day to do nothing but clean then I could catch up." If I didn't have diapers to change, meals to prepare, fights to referee, boo boos to kiss and little ones undoing everything that I have done then I would win the fight against the house.

So today I got it. A whole day to do nothing but clean. Brigham rearranged his schedule and instead of working he took off to the desert with Bing and Ruby. They skipped rocks, ate hot dogs and drank thirst busters.

Now I just need to clean these two little ones.

P.S. Brigham got them all cleaned up and in bed.
